Rétromobile; the thrill of classic cars

Lovers of classic, antique and vintage cars should not miss Rétromobile, the annual must-see event dedicated to the world and history of great old cars. While you’re staying at the Hotel Les Tournelles you’ll want to visit this show that takes place at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre from February 6th to 10th, 2019!

The year’s first big celebration of legendary vehicles

More than 100,000 visitors flock to Rétromobile every year and this internationally renowned event celebrates its 44th edition in 2019, so come along and live the automotive dream. The show occupies an exhibition space of some 68,000 m2 spread among three pavilions and boasts more than 600 exhibitors from around the world and over 600 venerable vehicles on display. Rétromobile is where you can find rare vehicles, of course, but the show also offers plenty of other surprises such as the armoured tanks and astonishing rhomboid cars showcased by previous editions (and tanks will be back this year!). This show is also the meeting place for manufacturers, spare parts and scale model dealers, mechanics and restorers, insurers and automobile artists, as well as clubs and federations of enthusiasts. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make purchases, get advice, meet professionals and socialise with fellow enthusiasts in convivial and exciting surroundings.

Get behind the wheel of your dream car

Bear in mind that Rétromobile is not just an exhibition of beautiful dream cars and a venue for exclusive events, it’s also an opportunity to buy! The events brings together the world’s three leading auction houses and there’s an exhibition-sale of vintage vehicles under €25,000. French, American, Italian, British ... Rétromobile has all you would expect and some surprises, too. You could leave behind the wheel of a gem such as the Ferrari Testarossa Spider, an Alpine or a beautiful sports model like the Ferrari 335 Sport, the 40CV of 1926 or the Étoile Filante of 1956, all of which have been sold at this event in previous years.

What’s happening at Rétromobile 2019?

The 2019 edition will celebrate 60 years of the Mini and will feature twenty models of this much-loved British classic on loan from the National Motors Museum of Beaulieu, the Haynes International Motor Museum and Transports Prevost. Come and celebrate the 60th birthday of the little car that made a big impact.

You’ll also have the pleasure of discovering the largest vehicle ever seen at Rétromobile; the Berliet T 100, the world's largest truck; a steel giant weighing 50 tonnes presented by the Berliet Foundation.

The centenary of the Citröen brand is also celebrated this year. The jewel in the crown of the French automobile industry is marking 100 years since the launch of the first mass-produced car in France, the 10 HP Type A, which left the factory on June 4th, 1919. Rétromobile will present a retrospective featuring such favourites as the Traction Avant, the DS and, of course, the famous 2CV.
