Come along and enjoy some festive fun on the pop-up skating rinks of Paris! You can find them everywhere in the capital until mid-January. Put on your skates and share joyous moments with family or friends in picturesque settings, some of which command stunning views of the City of Light. The Hôtel les Tournelles introduces you to the capital’s temporary rinks.
Ice beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais
Sparkling skating sensations await you on the largest indoor ice rink in the world, present until January 8th, 2020 beneath the magnificent glass roof of the Grand Palais. An area of nearly 2,700 m2 awaits skaters of all ages and ability levels. Come and glide on this icy playground amidst the glitter of an XXL mirror ball to the rhythm of lively music. The surprise of the winter...
See a panorama of Paris from the city’s rooftop skating rinks
Glide along gracefully or do some pirouettes with Paris at your feet! It’s possible thanks to the temporary skating rinks perched on the roofs of the Parisian department stores and other emblematic monuments. The Hôtel les Tournelles recommends heading to the roof of the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, which offers 176 m2 of skating terrain with spectacular views of the lights of Paris. Or perhaps you’d prefer the Grande Arche de la Défense ice rink, perched 110 metres above the city streets, or the even more panoramic one at the Montparnasse Tower, an amazing 210 metres in the Parisian sky.
Get your skates on at the Jardin des Tuileries
The magic of the holidays and the Christmas ambience are on the agenda again this year at the Jardin des Tuileries, where you’ll find a 500 m2 temporary ice rink installed in the heart of the Christmas market. Invitingly icy, it’s nestled amidst the verdant splendour of illuminated fir trees and promises lots of fun for families. An area is reserved for toddlers or beginners, leaving the field open to experienced skaters to cut loose on the blades. Nearby, the joyful music of the rides and other attractions add to the festive atmosphere while the snack stands give forth their tempting aromas.
Skate at the foot of the Eiffel Tower
What more beautiful setting could there be than that of the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars in which to strap on your skates and set off across 300 m2 of ice? The Champ de Mars skating rink invites you to have fun in an enchanting setting where you can also learn cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on a specially designed winter sports trail. Entertainment is on the agenda every day as well as pop-up snack bars where you can tuck into a tartiflette, let a toasted marshmallow dissolve on your tongue or warm up with some steaming hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine.
